Dear yoshi,

To date, 102 Tibetans have given their lives in protest of the oppressive policies of the Chinese Communist Party. Almost all have died of severe fourth degree burns, as they call for freedom for Tibet and the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet. But for the Huffington Post, their suffering is just an opportunity to gather more readers.

Last week, Huffington Post science reporter Cara Santa Maria posted graphic video footage of recent Tibetan immolations in her story about "regenerative medicine" for burn victims. Martyrs remain nameless, though the doctor with whom she discusses "burn care" receives full credits in her story.

Care2 activist Heidi Minx, who has devoted herself to working for human rights in Tibet, has created a petition asking Arianna Huffington to remove the video. She writes:

"Tibetans are using immolation to call attention to their over-50-year hardship and suffering under Communist China. They do not deserve to be trivialized in Cara Santa Maria's 'shock value' science reporting attempts."

Will you join Heidi in signing the petition to stand up for Tibetans? Tell Arianna Huffington that respecting human tragedy is more important than driving site traffic.
