Happy Losar and Tibetan & Chinese Year of the Snake!
This photo is of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche currently in Taiwan giving the 8 Mahayana Precepts to 21 of Taiwan’s geshes and robed sangha on this auspicious occasion of the first lunar day of the new year. The translator is DNSJ’s visiting Nyung Ne leader, Venerable Dechen.
What’s remarkable is that before ascending the throne, Rinpoche made three prostrations to the altar. It sounds normal until he said this was the first time after his stroke (April 2011) he’s made prostrations unassisted! May Rinpoche’s health continue to improve to ensure a long, healthy life!
