Today, we received the good news that Tenzin Delek Rinpoche’s sister Dolkar Lhamo and her daughter have been released by the Chinese authorities!
Let's continue to build pressure on our governments to help bring justice for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
Soon after Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's body was cremated against his family's wishes, Dolkar Lhamo, 52, and her daughter Nyima Lhamo, 25, were disappeared by Chinese police from Chengdu city on July 17th.
As soon as we learned of their disappearance, we took action. Your calls, emails and letters urging your elected leaders to press China for their release made a critical difference.
Thank you for taking action with us from day 1 and helping secure their safe release.
But it's not over yet. Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's family is still seeking answers for his untimely and unjust death in prison. And Chinese authorities are continuing the crackdown against Tibetans in his hometown of Lithang and in the town of Nyachukha, his monastic seat.
Tenzin Delek Rinpoche's last appeal from prison was: “I am not guilty, please appeal for justice for me”. Let’s help bring justice for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
