Have you heard? We just unveiled the 'Roadmap to Reclaim Tibet' in commemoration of this year's February 13: Tibetan Independence Day! In the first 48 hours of the launch, we've had 9000+ Tibetans and allies around the world take the first step to #ReclaimTibet by highlighting the historical map of Tibet on social media.
In the face of China's growing propaganda that distorts Tibet's history and makes illegitimate claims to its land and its people, Tibetans inside Tibet continue to reclaim Tibet through protests, stories, poetry, music, and art. Securing Tibet's history is crucial. On February 13, 1913, Tibet reasserted its independence by declaring the "Proclamation of Independence." Ever since the centennial in 2013, we have marked this important day in Tibet's history in communities around the world to emphasize the significance of Tibet's independent past as a building block for a future free and democratic Tibet.
Together, we can help teach the world that Tibet is more than China claims. Together, we can remind everyone of the 2008 uprisings in Tibet that took place in all three traditional provinces and reasserted the territorial map of Tibet that China fails to acknowledge. Together, we can secure the Tibetan people's proud past, and shape the future for a free Tibet.
